How to zoom ahead in YouTube videos with a single key press - gonzaleshatifix

This week my love affair with keyboard shortcuts continues. Shortcuts can make life so much easier and far much efficient. Today, I've got two Chromium-plate tools that will help oneself when you need to quickly scan an online video.

Cable car God Almighty Mini recently discharged an annexe for Chromium-plate called Mini Fast Forward that works with Facebook, Netflix, and YouTube. As its name suggests, the lengthiness allows you to quickly profligate-forward through a video. Totally you have got to do is lean back and tap the S key on your keyboard.

The downside of this extension is that it's more or fewer a marketing ploy—use the S paint, as in Mini Cooper S. It's fast, get information technology? The marketing gambit besides means each video gets a Mini logo watermark in the upper-left-hand niche of whol compatible videos (see the image at the height of this post). Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be whatever way to disable it.

Snap the volume icon in Mini Fast Forward's UI to stop the revving engine sound.

Mini too treats you to the sound of an railway locomotive revving each time you iron the S key. Thankfully, that's something you can turn off. Just click on the Mini icon that shows up to the decent of the destination bar. So click on the bulk icon in the extension's port (see above) to turn it off.

If you watch very much of Netflix on your PC the Mini logo put up get annoying fast, just for Facebook and YouTube it's in all likelihood not a big deal.

An mutually exclusive is TV Speed Controller.

Fair warning: out of the boxful, VSC does not work with Vimium. If you want to usance VSC and you're a Vimium user you'll have to remap some of the keys in VSC's settings.

VSC whole kit and boodle really well. It definitely adds complexity compared to Miniskirt Fast Forward since it has more than just a tight-saucy button. Nevertheless, it's an independent creation, customizable, offers far more moderate, and doesn't contain advertising.

Using VSC is fairly simple. By default tap Z to rewind, X to scurrying forward, D to increase speed (play the video and audio frequency at a faster speed), S to fall velocity (admit that, Mini Cooper S), and R toreset everything back to normal.

If all you want to do is fast-forward, just remember to usage D to go out ahead and R to return to formula. VSC works connected any site offering HTML5 telecasting, including all the same sites as Mini Fast Forward. Similar to Mini's extension, VSC also puts a water line in the upper-left corner. Merely it's just a speed indicator that provides useful information about how fast your video is moving.

There you have it. Two Chrome extensions that make it very much easier to manipulate online videos without a mouse.
